Dave Slaughter, President & Chief Operating Officer


Mr. Slaughter, a certified Project Management Professional, has attended Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training, and has 30 years of management and Space and Missile Defense experience. Slaughter has performed as the program manager on $400 million (ceiling) and on $250 million (ceiling) contracts, which adds to the strength of ANC R&D to manage large-scale, diverse and geographically dispersed contracts.

 

Slaughter has extensive experience overseeing, directing and managing the day-to-day principal business operations and activities of the company. He is responsible for the overall management of corporate projects and programs, including oversight of all subcontractors.

 

Slaughter graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Pittsburg State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He received a regular army commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery branch. During his 20 years of military service he completed specialized training and earned numerous certifications including:

 

  • Air Defense Artillery Officer Basic Course
  • U.S. Army Airborne Course
  • Air Defense Artillery Officer Advanced Course
  • Recruiting Commander’s Course
  • Inspector General Course
  • Command and General Staff College
  • Individual Terrorism Awareness Course
  • Security Assistance Training Operations Course

 

During his military career he held various assignments and participated in the planning and execution of numerous high level international Air and Missile Defense exercises such as:

 

  • Planned three missile live-firing exercises at three different locations, one of which was overseas.
  • Planned and executed equipment movement by ship, air, helicopter, truck, rail and prime mover while supporting exercises.
  • Prepared units for deployment to Desert Storm and instituted the training program for Ft. Lewis units.
  • Selected as the Deputy Team Chief for a Technical Assistance Fielding Team assigned to the United Arab Emirates.
  • Assisted the Emirates in air and missile defense for their country and was an ambassador for the United States military with the Middle Eastern country. 
  • Assisted in the planning and execution of the first live-fire exercise outside the United States for the Phase III HAWK system.
  • Provided assistance with the Emirates interest in the PATRIOT system and how that system could be utilized for the defense of their country.
  • Responsible for all the Air Defense Artillery Officer Courses which included; the Basic, Advanced, Weapons Track, Warrant Officer Advanced and Pre-Command Courses for Battalion and Brigade Commanders.
  • Designed and developed an advanced automated classroom that became the blueprint for Army classrooms of the future.
  • Selected to form the Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC). The AAMDC was deployed for exercise Roving Sands 96 and established the framework for the organization to become an active-duty unit, now called the 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command.

 

Slaughter retired from the Army after 20 years of service and entered the private workforce as a Department of Defense (DoD) contractor. He continued to support the AAMDC on exercises along with Army Space Command providing expertise in the missile warning area using space assets and the information they provided via the JTAGS system. He supported Army Space in South Korea, Europe and additional Roving Sands Exercises. He was detailed by name in 1998 to support the AAMDC and Army Space in exercise Desert Thunder in Kuwait. He provided operational expertise for the missile defense systems and orchestrated simulation-based training for the deployed forces at the AAMDC and Joint Command level.

 

Slaughter worked on the Army Space SBIRS/M3P effort and continued working with the PATRIOT, ABL, JTAGS, THAAD, AEGIS and the command and control efforts for the weapons systems. He was hired to be the Program Manager for the Space and Missile Defense Initiative Support (SMDIS) contract with Army Space Command. On the contract he was the lead for the Enroute Mission Planning and Rehearsal System and the Space Support Platform tasks supporting the Space and Missile Defense Battle Lab. At the same time, he ran the Space Warfare Center contract and led the successful recompete effort for SMDIS II. He was also successful in joining the Northrop team on the JRDC contract and joining the BAE COSMIC team adding critical subcontracting elements to the winning efforts.
