Matthew Holmstrom, P.E., Vice President,

Construction Division

Mr. Holmstrom is responsible for managing ANC R&D’s construction operations. With more than twenty-two years of design management and construction contracting experience, he has the leadership and experience necessary to manage the construction teams for projects that ANC R&D develops.

Mr. Holmstrom most recently served as a Senior Engineer on the Port of Anchorage Intermodal Expansion Project for Integrated Concepts & Research Corporation. Previously he was Senior Project Manager for Kodiak Management Incorporated and prior to that time he was the Project Manager for Brechan Enterprises, Inc. overseeing the Job Order (renovation, repair and construction) Contract on the U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command in Kodiak, Alaska.

His role in these projects and several other signature projects in Alaska have provided him with experience in:

• Working closely with owner representatives
• Developing and implementing partnering policies, processes and procedures
• Identifying project needs and scope
• Selecting design consultants and construction subcontractors
• Managing design/build teams
• Managing construction teams to achieve consistent risk-managed oversight of the overall construction process
• Tracking scope, schedule and budget
• Technical problem solving
• Preparing detailed cost estimates
• Preparing bid packages for contracts and subcontracts
• Executing design tasks
• Overseeing the development of drawings and specifications
• Materials selection and procurement and scheduling
