ANC R&D is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI). Established in 1972, CIRI is one of 13 regional Native corporations created by Congress under the terms of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.

CIRI’s diversified business interests include real estate and resource development, oilfield and construction services, Alaska tourism and out-of-Alaska destination resorts, telecommunications, government contracting and private equity investments.

This strategic diversification has allowed CIRI to recognize significant financial growth, with net assets of $697.9 million in 2006 – up from $636.8 million in 2005.
